Bromma releases certified weighing system for reachstackers

Bromma’s twistlock based container weighing system has been certified to comply with the OIML R51 requirements on July 1, 2016. Now the certification has been extended to include the weighing system for Reachstacker spreaders. Bromma Container Weighing System for Reachstacker spreaders weighs containers with the highest accuracy during normal lifting cycle. The system provides certified and accurate net container weight, delivers accurate real-time VGM data and shares it with terminal operators. To increase the safety of operations, overload detection and eccentric lift detection are included into the system.

“Almost 4 years after SOLAS regulation came into effect, weighing accuracy is still the biggest hurdle for terminal operators, that’s why Bromma has been developing its weighing system to provide the most accurate data”, says Alf-Gunnar Karlgren, Vice President of Spreader Solutions in Bromma. “To be certified to OIML R51 requirements as well as to 2014/32/EU (MID) ensures that we have gone through an extensive process including amongst other things laboratory testing under various temperature conditions, field based testing as well as the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of the equipment used”, he continues.

The Bromma Weighing System is available for all Bromma reachstacker spreaders.  It can be offered as a retrofit or included as a specification for new spreaders.
