Description

The Bromma Tandem E³ spreader offers great capacity and flexibility. Low spreader weight is combined with the ability to lift different combinations of 40 or 45 foot containers or single 40 and 45 foot containers. The Tandem E³ spreader also offers another advantage: the capability to do side shift on individual spreaders, which is useful when the chassis or containers on the ground are not fully lined up in the longitudinal direction.

Possible container combinations: 40´, 45´, 40+45´, 2×40´, 2×45´

The Bromma Tandem E³ spreader offers great capacity and flexibility. Low spreader weight is combined with the ability to lift different combinations of 40 or 45 foot containers or single 40 and 45 foot containers. The Tandem E³ spreader also offers another advantage: the capability to do side shift on individual spreaders, which is useful when the chassis or containers on the ground are not fully lined up in the longitudinal direction.

The limitation on the E³ is that it cannot lift 20 foot containers. Due to this limitation, the Tandem E³ is especially well-suited for container terminals that have a high percentage of 40 and 45 foot containers, and a low percentage of 20 foot containers. When the E³ spreader is equipped with the Tandem headblock and automatic connector, the time for switching between the Tandem and single spreader is approximately three minutes. The Tandem E³ is able to handle both spreader units at the same time as well as controlling the two spreader units individually.

The spreader is designed in accordance with EN13001.

All Bromma spreaders are made from European high quality steel, this ensures a light and robust design. All components can be easily assembled, adjusted, removed, and are accessible for inspection and maintenance.”

Major Features

  • Adjustable for different combinations of 40’ and 45’ containers. Two containers can be lifted at the same time, for example one 40’ and one 45’ container.
  • The spreader can telescope in to approx. 39 foot, in order to avoid snag load (to get stuck in a ship cell).
  • Low weight.
  • Recessed end beams allow handling of lashing frames and hatch covers.
  • Automatic separating and skewing functions.
  • Chain system allows for lifting containers of different heights (up to 660 mm).
  • Fast trouble shooting
