HIS – Height Indication System
Description
The Bromma Height Indication System, HIS, helps the crane operator to not land too hard on the container. HIS increases productivity and safety and can easily be adapted to any Bromma spreader.
The ultrasonic system measures the distance between the spreader and the container, and sends a signal to the crane to decelerate, helping the crane operator to not land too hard on the container. The system is especially valuable when it comes to landing in the ship cell, where it is much harder for the crane operator to visually gauge the remaining distance, or in jib-crane spreaders, where the crane cab is far away from the vessel. The HIS assists the crane operator to approach the container at a suitable speed, while at the same time enabling the crane driver to limit hard impacts. It is designed to limit hard landings on the container – a feature that is especially valuable on high-speed cranes.
